Agricultural information engineering can be defined as "information engineering efforts for agriculture" and "engineering centered on agricultural information". In order to transform the current Japanese agriculture into an innovative and attractive industrial system, engineering considering the affinity with the target animals, plants and target agricultural products (food) while keeping in mind the construction of an agricultural information database in a broad sense and its standardization. An approach is essential, and at the same time, harmonious cooperation between industry, government and academia is required. The Agricultural Information Engineering Subcommittee is soliciting original elemental research (new elemental technologies, innovative model presentations, appropriate system theory, etc.) from various fields, with such awareness as an implicit premise. Agricultural information engineering deals with the element areas or technology defined by the above keywords (including the peripheral concepts of the keywords), and the fields reconstructed from the combinations thereof. The Agricultural Information Engineering Subcommittee plans special projects such as launching joint research, holding workshops, holding tutorials, and corporate liaisons, with the aim of realizing that philosophy.
Project Example
Precision agriculture, robots / humans, complex biological information, biological information measurement, biological information, food information systems, SPAC advanced equipment facilities, biosensors, nanotechnology, food sensitivity engineering
Agricultural information engineering is involved in projects and symposiums dealing with the above project topics.
